I’m not sure if this legendary Piedmont bluesman from Kentucky is still based in Nice but if he is and you’re there, you should move heaven and earth to catch a set. I think he had a residency at Johnnie’s Bar - I saw him a couple of times at the Bar des Oiseaux tucked away in the Old Town (which, come to think of it, probably needs a post of its own…)Frank has played with everyone, lived at least two lifetimes worth of living and is a fountain of great stories.I can’t find his website anymore - I’ll put the link up if I do. For now, you’ll just have to make do with these clips I found on YouTube (all except the last one which is some German guy I can’t understand).
